Jury Service
  The Champaign County Municipal Court is presided over by the Honorable Susan J. Fornof-Lippencott, who was re-elected and began serving her second term on January 1, 2002.

The Champaign County Municipal Court has county-wide jurisdiction and became a Full Time court effective January 1, 2002. The Municipal Court facility is located in the City of Urbana Municipal Building.

The Municipal Court has made great strides in these years toward enabling the Court and the Clerk's Office to operate more efficiently, effectively, fiscally prudent and has recently undergone a new and modern computer upgrade.

This year has been a busy one for the Champaign County Municipal Court. There have been some changes and improvements made throughout the year in all divisions. The Court has had some staffing changes, also. Overall, the Champaign County Municipal Court is making positive strides toward the future.

Judge Fornof-Lippencott was also invited to speak in the Graham School, Mechanicsburg District and West-Liberty Salem District DARE Graduation as well as other local area schools. The Judge has participated in the West-Liberty Salem High School Mock Trials and has spoken at meetings and events for several local organizations.

In 2003, Champaign County Municipal Court employed one full-time Clerk of Court, one full-time bookkeeper, eight full-time Deputy Clerks, two full-time Bailiffs, one part time bailiff, and one part-time Civil Small Claims Magistrate. The Probation Department employed one full-time Probation Officer and one full-time clerical. The Probation Department was funded completely through a state grant and no local funds were used.
